Money in the Bank: A Cox & Kin Review

WWE Money in the Bank this year was every flavor of chaotic, fun, frustrating, surprising, and downright entertaining - the kind of premium live event that had our house reacting in real time, loudly, dramatically, and with plenty of opinions. We didn't do snacks this time because dinner was in the oven - Italian sausages with peppers and onions - which somehow made the whole night feel even more like a cozy family watch party.

Here's how MITB unfolded in our home, in the order it aired:

World Heavyweight Championship

Roman Reigns vs LA Knight (YEAH!)

This match divided the house. I wanted LA Knight - he's been grinding, and he deserves a real main event push. The girls? Team OTC all the way.

But even with the split, we all agreed on one thing: they put on a clinic. It was tight, well-paced, and felt like a true main event despite it being the opening match. Roman retaining wasn't shocking but didn't feel disappointing either. If anything, it feels like LA Knight is officially stepping into that upper-card territory now.

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Lola vice vs Sol Ruca vs Tiffany Stratton vs Lash Legend vs Roxanne Perez vs Jacy Jane

This match had one of the scariest moments of the night. Tiffy pulled a full Jeff Hardy move from the top of the ladder, lost her footing, and took a nasty bump. We were genuinely worried she was hurt – and when she said afterward that her neck was hurting, it confirmed that fear. Thankfully she’s okay(ish).

We were rooting for Sol or Lola, but we’re not mad that Tiffy took the case to become Tiffy Two-Time. She’s a star, and even though the bump rattled us, she earned every last bit of that win.

Singles Match

Oba Femi vs Bronson Reed

This was exactly what we expected: a good, solid match with predictable interference from The Vision. I wanted Oba to win, and he did, so this one felt satisfying even if it wasn’t the most surprising match of the night.

Women’s World Championship Triple Threat

Stephanie Vaquer vs The Man Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan

This was the one outcome we didn’t want – and of course, it’s the one we got.

Liv Morgan is champion again. After a terrible 5-month run before Vaquer took the title, seeing her win it back was… rough. I wanted The Man to take it,a nd the girls weren’t thrilled either. It was the only moment of the night where the room felt collectively deflated.

But wrestling is wrestling. It is what it is.

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

CM Punk vs Penta vs Je’Von “Bouncy” Evans vs Kevin Owens vs Trick Williams vs Bron Breakker

This match was pure chaos in the best way. The only thing we were united on from the start was this: please, not Trick or Bron. As long as neither of them walked out with the briefcase, we were going to be fine.

I wanted Bouncy to win – he’s electric, and he’s earned that spotlight – but when Penta grabbed the case, we were genuinely happy for him. He’s worked so hard, and seeing him finally get a moment like that felt right.

The moment of the night though?

Bouncy going through the roof of the ambulance.

We screamed. All of us. It was one of those “did that really just happen?” spots that makes MITB what it is. Today we’re just hoping he’s okay, and we’ll be glued to RAW on Monday waiting for the medical update.

Final thoughts

MITB this year was a rollercoaster – loud, chaotic, emotional, and full of moments that had us yelling at the TV. Between the ladder match insanity, the household debates, the shock wins, and the cozy dinner in the oven, it felt like one of those nights that reminds us why we love watching wrestling together.

Another premium live event in the books – and another memory stitched into the Cox & Kin family timeline.
