A new night time routine

I have instilled a new night time routine basically consisting of a bedtime. which is something our kids never had, but needed. We are now having dinner at six thirty baths around seven and bed at eight in their beds. It was a struggle, because the kids weren't prepared for "super momma" but that is what they got. Only 3 times did I have to put Maddie back in bed and she realized this was the way it was going to be. Kenzie on the other hand was a bit harder and I ended up having to lay with her to get her calmed down. She was so upset that she was getting really winded.. I didn't want her falling ill because she wasn't prepared to have to go to bed in her room. She kept crying that she was scared to be alone. I don't know what is up, but I will keep working on her and I know it will get better. Maybe I will do the sit by her bed and just inch my way out of the room technique. I have heard that it does work but it takes a while. We will just have to see how the next few nights go. As of right now, I have two sleeping lil girls in their beds and the house is quiet which is a rarity here. I am about to go to bed myself!

  1. I am so proud of you Sis. Your really taking control and it will all be for the best in the long run. Thanks for coming to me and asking about the chores and such. It felt good being able to help my Sis. I love you.

School is OUT!!!

Today was bittersweet for me.  I am happy its summer break, but that means we only have 2 years before we have a MIDDLESCHOOLER!  I cant believe we are that close already!  Both girls had a great day.  I got soaked walking to get Madispn, then the rain slacked off enough for me to have buckets of sweat rolling into my eyes!  It has been so humid here that i sweat as soon as i go outside let alone walk the more than 1/2 mile to her school.  We are starting a new walking track tomorrow... not sure how far but its gonna be fun to see

sad but true

Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore Because the word "God" is mentioned...... A kid in Arizona wrote the attached NEW School prayer: Now I sit me down in school Where praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of Him very odd. If Scripture now the class recites, It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow Becomes a Federal matter now. Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That's no offense; it's a freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise. Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice. For praying in a public hall Might offend someone with no faith at all. In silence alone we must meditate, God's name is prohibited by the state. We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks. They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable. We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,...
