Christmas time is in the air!

Last night I wanted to post because I had a couple of pics for the blog, but it was so late, I decided to wait until today to do this. Kenzie and I put up the tree. Well I put it up and Kenzie decorated it. I had bought one that is a prelit one so I don't have to fight with lights anymore. They didn't have the green one so I settled for the white one. All in all, I like it. Kenzie told me where to put the bulbs on the top of the tree, but you can really tell that a child decorated it because most of the ornaments are at the bottom of the tree. Kenzie and I decided that next year we will get all new ornaments since ours are getting a little old and broken... That kind of thing.

In addition to decorating the tree, we went shopping last night. We got Kenzie's winter coat for this year and hopefully next year too. I bought a size big. She wanted a High School Musical one, but they were out, so she settled for a Bratz coat. It is real cute. Then she found Bratz shoes that really look cute with the coat. She needed a new pair of shoes anyway. So now she has a new coat and new shoes. Ryan and I got new jammies. They were on sale. Then it was off to eat. After eating, off to walmart to get the tree. 6.5 foot prelit white colorado pine for under $30. I thought it was a good deal since we had paid that for our other tree that now mom is keeping and it was only 6 feet. So, all in all, we did good. We started out going to the license branch in Jeffersonville, and I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN! They are so rude! So we are going to try and go to the Sellersburg branch tonight. Jeffersonville needs a lesson in manners! After that we dropped Anthony off at his house to his Daddy (my brother Kevin) and he was a happy camper. The we did the above described shopping fiasco. By the time we made it home and finished with the tree it was almost 10, so I snapped a few pics and went to bed. Here they are.....

Kenzie and her Daddy! I can't believe he agreed to take a pic! We have such a hard time with him. "Mommy, look what I did!" Kenzie had such a good time putting the balls on the tree! And the last one for right now. I will get the girls in red or something and do some more pics as soon as I can get the batteries charged on the camera since I rean out as I took the last pic.

Love,

Dawn

School is OUT!!!

Today was bittersweet for me.  I am happy its summer break, but that means we only have 2 years before we have a MIDDLESCHOOLER!  I cant believe we are that close already!  Both girls had a great day.  I got soaked walking to get Madispn, then the rain slacked off enough for me to have buckets of sweat rolling into my eyes!  It has been so humid here that i sweat as soon as i go outside let alone walk the more than 1/2 mile to her school.  We are starting a new walking track tomorrow... not sure how far but its gonna be fun to see

sad but true

Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore Because the word "God" is mentioned...... A kid in Arizona wrote the attached NEW School prayer: Now I sit me down in school Where praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of Him very odd. If Scripture now the class recites, It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow Becomes a Federal matter now. Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That's no offense; it's a freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise. Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice. For praying in a public hall Might offend someone with no faith at all. In silence alone we must meditate, God's name is prohibited by the state. We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks. They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable. We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,...
